Daniel Sterescu

Vice President - Legal, Industrial and
Labour & Employment
Bird Construction Inc.

Daniel Sterescu is the Vice President, Legal – Industrial, Employment and Labour at Bird Construction, where he has spent 15 years providing strategic legal guidance across the organization.

Daniel began his career at Bird focusing on employment law and contract risk management, gradually expanding his scope over the past five years to include leadership of the company’s labour portfolio from a legal perspective. Today, he oversees commercial risk management for Bird’s industrial operations and plays a central role in shaping labour strategy and employer–employee relations nationwide.

Daniel holds dual law degrees from Michigan State University and the University of Ottawa, a foundation that has supported his career-long work at the intersection of construction, legal risk, and workforce dynamics.

This past year marked Daniel’s first direct participation in collective bargaining within the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sector—an experience that adds a fresh, candid perspective to his broader strategic background. While relatively new to the bargaining process itself, his years managing labour issues at the organizational level allow him to bridge technical bargaining insights with practical, real-world considerations faced by construction employers.
