Daniel Anisfeld is a partner at CaleyWray. He is both a tenacious advocate and an effective negotiator, and he understands that every labour relations dispute requires an approach that is tailored to the circumstances. Danny’s nearly 20 years of litigation experience, both as a lawyer at a nationally recognized labour firm in Toronto and at nonprofit organizations and a major commercial law firm in New York City, have lent him a depth and breadth of experience that he leverages on behalf of his clients. He has achieved impressive results for his clients in a variety of forums, including:
United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 175 v. Quality
Meat Packers Limited, 2020, in which the Union successfully
defeated numerous preliminary objections brought by the
Responding Parties, resulting in a multi-million dollar
settlement for the Union’s members for unpaid termination
and severance pay.
Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority v. OPSEU, Local 217,
2018 CanLII 7738, in which the local successfully argued that
the Employer had violated numerous job posting requirements.
International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders,
Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, Local 128 v. Aecon Industrial
and The Millwrights Regional Council of Ontario, 2016 CanLII
75187, in which the Millwrights successfully argued that the
Employer erred in assigning the installation and commissioning
of a major tooling system at Darlington Nuclear Generating
Station to other trades.
Danny has vast experience in both construction and non-construction labour matters, and frequently appears at arbitrations and matters before the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Grievance Settlement Board.
After practicing law in New York City and at a nationally-recognized labour law firm in Toronto, Danny joined Caley Wray in 2022.
